Here are main ways that people go broke and completely flame out in the coin industry as a buyer – these are ways that people incur large losses of capital. Whether it's buying fakes or being risky with leverage, debt, and crackouts, there are a lot of traps I've seen and heard of people falling into that are really challenging to ever recover from.

I appreciate your knowledge and information about buying coins, I myself have tons of copper pennies and I have been going through them and I believe I have found two 1982D small print they are weighing up 3.1 and 3.2 so they are all copper they’re in very good Condition, I’ve collected these every since they switched over from copper to the mixture of copper and zinc, I’m not sure how I can actually have them verified ,there is a coin dealer in my town and I think I probably will them to him and see what he thinks.thank you again for all of your information and I will continue to follow you.thank you have a great day.
I really enjoyed this one, looking forward to the follow up. Have a good wknd
Great topic Christian. If I may add one that is important (& it has happened to me) ? Try hard NOT to get into a bidding war when looking for certain types. I was in a bidding war for a 1928 P (Peace dollar) that I needed to complete the set. I paid more than I wanted to but in the end I was happy with the purchase. It was over $100 more than I allotted and I got caught up. I tell myself now that there is more than one available and not to get upset if you lose out. This theory has worked out so far.
I appreciate the channel.
Great information 👍 👍👍
Great topic
But, Christian, haven’t you ever purchased a coin, not for its “investment potential,” but fundamentally because it’s just a beautiful coin you want to have in your collection? I’m betting you have done exactly that.
I think if you buy and hold it works really well. That is my approach! Great suggestions as always.
