STRANGE GOLD PLATED COIN FOUND Half Dollar Coin Roll Hunting

Definitely did not expect this when coin roll hunting a half dollar box (of 1000 half dollars or $500 face value). We got our usual smattering of interesting coins with markings as well as some NIFC 'not intended for circulation' half dollars but then we got a gold plated coin with some writing on it. This is not an endorsement of any kind for Info Wars but it certainly was interesting and shocking (especially compared to coin roll hunting silver half dollars, errors, Franklins, Walking Liberties, or anything else I've gotten so far). Wish I could've found silver though!

  1. THANKS AGAIN DEAR HOST OF TREASURE TOWN COINS CHRISTIAN,YOUR TALENT IN THIS HOBBIE IS PRICELESS AND ITS FANTASTIC EVERY TIME MORE AND MORE YOUR TIPS…💖

    1. Hi Harry, I think you might have meant “priceless” not “worthless”. They mean opposite things, but it seemed like you meant to praise Treasure Town.

    2. Thank you so much! I appreciate it… hope you are actively finding some great coins for your collection as well!

  2. Just wanted to clear things up. There were some people who assumed that this is an endorsement of any political leaning. I changed the title and removed the thumbnail as there was some backlash. Treasure Town is not a place for politics, but there were a few inflammatory comments and unpleasant discourse in the comment section. I have removed them. Thank you all for your understanding.

    1. ACCEPT MY APOLOGIZE FOR MY POLITICAL COMMENT.I HOPE BE FRIEND OF TREASURE TOWN FOR LONGER TIME BECAUSE I APPRECIATE SO MUCH THIS GREAT COIN LEARNING TIPS..💖

    2. You were fine! Not too political Harry. There were some other more serious comments that I felt uncomfortable having on the channel.

  3. Wow good hunting, I don’t have much luck in finding those or anything silver, I keep getting same coins that I previously had over and over. I think my bank is playing games on me. 😂

  4. Christian You are so controversial ! lol Thanks for the video keep up the Great Work, Thanks for All You Do 🙂

  5. Just wanted to say thank you for always being positive and empowering your fellow Youtube friends to better themselves. I think you are a genuine guy! Also maybe one day you could help me identify the collection I have. I am not skilled in coin rolling /what to look out for. But its a great collection and it has a cool story. ( when I worked at a bank ) 🙂 Cheers brother!

    1. Thank you so much. I’d love to help – let me know! Right now I’m applying to colleges / studying hard / finishing up my high school sport (water polo) season so I’m super busy but maybe after that!

  6. My dad always keeps his coins in bags and puts it in old containers. Today he allowed me to check out some and I have a gold appearing half dollar coin that is 1980 and no I’m not selling it he said to keep it

  7. I just found a gold plated as well but not as clean as that one. What do the markings mean? I’ve seen a bunch with a black marker spot or line like those there

  8. The coin on the thumbnail looks like it has extra dates stamped on it. I have just found one in a roll and was trying to find out why the small dates were stamped on the side

    1. I actually have one of these as well, same set up, gold, mint condition, smaller dates stamped on either side, love it… found it in a bank roll while hunting for the normal silvers..never saw one to date… I love it! Not sure what it’s worth though, as I said, mine’s in mint condition

  9. Is your Kennedy gold bicentennial 11.5 gms.? Depicting that it would be 40% silver? The coin you have appears to have a MM? Is it possible a Franklin Mint specialty but then it wouldn’t have a D MM? I’m anxiously waiting for a response.

  10. Possibly the plated half was used as a golf ball marker. Commonly coins would be used in situations where the golf ball had to be taken off the green while the opponent is making a shot, then when the turn resumes the ball is placed back on the precise spot which the coin marked. The gold plating was often added as a way to make it stand out even more against the green, and to look more special in general. As for the markings on that one, it was possibly a giveaway coin to a caddy or some random winner of a listener (I don’t listen to talk radio, so don’t know if giveaways were something he did).
